Fugue

The description or definition of a "Fugue" is a musical contrapuntal compositon that begins with a central "voice" or subject, with additional voices entering the composition at different times. Each additional voice or subject adds complexity to the composition, sometimes with counterpoint in additon to repetition.

The Coda is the final resolution and integration of the voices into the finale.

Using the idea of this particular musical construction, I explored the story of an episode in my daughter's life, and my life, in which great emotional difficulties were experienced, faced, and resolved in an ongoing story. This type of composition was used most famously in the Baroque period, and many of the project pieces include that sensibility in their design.
